Contour Garden

Fall 2023

The contour garden project built on earlier lessons by encouraging creative rule-breaking, incorporating level changes, and introducing curves into the design. Located on an arid site next to a new building and major bike paths, the garden was designed to attract passersby with its unique features. The lowered gathering area on the north side, hidden from view, and an island peeking out, were intended to draw curiosity and invite people into the space rather than overwhelming them with a large hill. This project also introduced realistic trees that provide shade, creating a comfortable environment in the harsh sun, and focused on small details to enhance the overall experience.
