Spring 2025

ADU Speedrun

As part of a week-long project to design a 600-800 sqft Accessory Dwelling Unit, this space focuses on maximizing functionality and practicality within a limited footprint. It achieves this through carefully framed views to the rear, a central spiral staircase, and a clear division between private and public areas. Upon entry, users are guided through a foyer/mudroom and towards the public section, which includes the kitchen and central staircase. An intentional decision point takes the users the other way around a private hallway, which leads to a bathroom and office space. The upper level features a private bedroom loft, complete with a deck and a half-wall that overlooks the living area below.
